I love baking and cooking, but I'm also a really impatient person.
It becomes most obvious when I'm baking cookies because I have to stand there and scoop all the dough onto baking sheets.
Worst job ever for an impatient person.
So, this is what usually ends up happening.
Pan 1: Regular-sized cookies.
Pan 2: Large cookies.
Pan 3: Extra-large cookies.
Pan 4: ONE HUGE-ASS COOKIE.
I usually try to be good and eat only one or two cookies. So, I eat the last pan all by myself.

The Lights at Work
My old, old workplace had motion-sensor lights in the bathrooms.
Which meant, in the middle of my bathroom visits, this would happen to me all the time:
Apparently, I sat too still.
Stop judging me, Lights.
To try and get the lights to turn back on, I'd often be waving my arms around like a maniac or rocking my body back and forth.
Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't.
Most of the time it didn't.
Which wasn't fun.
Janice = Klutz. Klutz + Darkness = Problems.
But, when it did, I felt like a rockstar:
And, it was glorious.
It's the little things in life.

Work Week Mornings
Every morning, when I wake up
And, have to think about dressing for work.
I wish it were Pajama Day at work.
Sadly, that never happens.
But, I think I'm onto something here.
I bet the world would be a lot happier if we were allowed to wear pajamas to work.

Grandma Benefits
This is my grandma.
She is 70-years-old.
I spent this past Sunday with her, along with my aunt, uncle, and cousins.
This is what it was like:
Our reaction:
My Gma's response:
Grandma benefits.
It definitely has its advantages.
I love my Gma.

Chronicles of a Light Sleeper
What sucks about being a light sleeper is that
what you thought was the rumbling of the train
that was keeping you awake
is actually your upstairs neighbor snoring.
And there's nothing you can do about it.

Shrunken Clothes
I was putting on work clothes the other day:
And, my first thought was: Whoa, I shrunk my clothes again.
But then, I remembered:
Nope, my clothes didn't shrink, I just grew wider.
If you want to know where to find me for the next couple of months, I'll be at the gym.

Blog Anniversary + Lan Ling Wang + Giveaway
I have been doing a lot of this lately:
Or, more specifically, I've been binge-watching Lan Ling Wang (aka Prince of Lan Ling) for the past week because both my mom and aunt watched it awhile ago and said it was good.
I'd been hankering for something to sink my teeth into and this Chinese drama was the perfect fit.
The plot was interesting, the actors were good, and the setting was beautiful.
Everything that makes me drama-happy.
But then, I noticed something about myself.
I kept pausing in the middle of the drama to do this:
Does anyone else do this, too?
Every time something interesting happened, I googled it to see if it was true.
I did so many searches as I was watching the show that I read an obscene amount of Chinese history.
Yep, I learn my history from watching dramas.
No shame.
Lan Ling Wang aka Gao Chang Gong was a pretty interesting historical figure.
Supposedly one of the four most handsome men in Chinese history, and sometimes mistaken for a woman, Lan Ling Wang wore masks during battles to hide his beauty. He was a celebrated general beloved by the people which unfortunately, incited the jealousy of his cousin, the king. The latter forced the prince to end his life with poison.
William Feng Shao Feng portrays Lan Ling Wang and I may have developed a teeny tiny (HUGE) fan crush on him. Ariel Lin Yi Chen, whom I already love, plays the female lead and the two of them together makes this drama GOLD. George Hu Yu Wei is Lan Ling Wang's brother and I am QUITE amused by George's character. He's the perfect element to round out this drama.
Would you guys like to watch Lan Ling Wang and fall down this rabbit hole, too?
Yes?
Good, because it's my ONE YEAR BLOG ANNIVERSARY and to celebrate, I'm giving away a 3-month premium subscription to DramaFever.
That means you can watch Lan Ling Wang and other Asian dramas for three whole months, ad-free!
